Following last year’s launch of the Government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge to strengthen UK science and business innovation, UK Research and Innovation will share exciting new developments over breakfast during All-Energy 19.
With £102.5 million of investment available, the challenge is designed to unlock the potential of local, intelligent energy systems. Attendees at this breakfast briefing will hear from some of UKRI’s funded companies that are bringing forward commercial solutions that integrate multiple local energy flows using innovative technologies.
Attendees to this session will hear case studies from three of PFER projects, highlighting how this challenge has helped businesses and researchers come together to collaborate and deliver cost effective carbon reducing solutions.
The projects to be shared are:
ReFLEX, Orkney: A programme looking to provide cost effective and integrated renewable energy for the island’s heating and transport systems.
GreenSCIES, London: Hear how nine project partners are working together to study the gap between intermittent availability of renewable energy sources and the demands of users.
LEMDEx, Exeter & Devon: This project looks to increase the use of local renewable energy reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
If these case studies inspire, the session will close with a discussion titled “How do we strengthen our investment proposition?”
