In our session “Digitalisation: The path from extractivism to interactivism” on 12th May, Will Higham, Data Scientist, ONYX InSight, delivered a presentation on the digital bottleneck in scaling up renewable energy.

Will Higham, Data Scientist, ONYX InSight

Will is a data scientist at ONYX Insight, specialising in developing advanced analytical methods for detecting issues in the wind industry primarily using SCADA data. As a Chartered Engineer and data scientist, Will has a particular interest in ensuring machine learning models are interpretable and linked to the underlying physics of the problem being solved, leading to improved results.

Will’s background is in Engineering, with a first class degree in Mathematics from Oxford University, followed by 8 years at Rolls-Royce in various Aerospace Engineering roles, prior to joining ONYX Insight.
