Geoff Miller, Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager – Heat Networks, SSE Energy Solutions, delivered a presentation on smart heat network dispatch based on real time marginal emissions.

Dr. Graeme Hawker, Lecturer, University of Strathclyde

Graeme is a Lecturer in Future Energy Systems in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. With a background in the onshore wind industry, his current research is focused on the integration of new energy vectors, such as green hydrogen, into electricity networks with a high proportion of renewable energy. He is Deputy Lead for the Infrastructures Theme of the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC).

Geoff Miller, Engineering Manager – Heat Networks, SSE Energy Solutions

With over 20 years of engineering experience in the power and heat sectors, across three continents for three multi-national companies, Geoff brings a breadth of knowledge to the holistic consideration of decarbonising the heat sector. Currently, he manages a 10-strong team of engineers in SSE’s Energy Solutions business, exclusively supporting SSE’s heat network project development and their 20 operational heat networks. The learnings from optimising and decarbonising existing networks provide an enviable platform from which to develop the designs of new heat networks, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency.

All-Energy and Dcarbonise is the UK’s leading and only full supply chain renewables and low carbon energy event for the private and public sector energy end users, developers and investors.
