In the The Research & Innovation Hub, Lara Santos Ayllon, PhD Researcher in justice, energy and innovation, University of Edinburgh and European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), delivered a presentation on Justice, innovation and emerging technologies: marine energy, green hydrogen and Orkney energy futures.

PhD researcher through the Energy Technology Partnership (ETP), at the University of Edinburgh and based in industry at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), with co-supervision by Heriot-Watt University, ICIT campus. Research focused on the justice dimensions of emerging renewable energy technologies, with a focus on ocean energy and green hydrogen. These will be investigated through frameworks of energy justice, just transitions and responsible research and innovation (RRI).

Experience and interest in stakeholder engagement, sustainability consulting, climate change and energy policy research and analysis, strategic communications.
