In our session “23 years till net zero: Can our networks achieve it?” on 12th May, Bless Kuri, Head of System Planning and Investment, SSEN Transmission, Nicola Todd, Head of Strategy and Innovation, National Grid Electricity Transmission, and Stephanie Anderson, Head of Regulation, SP Energy Networks delivered a presentation on how will the transmission system facilitate our net zero ambitions.
Bless Kuri, Head of System Planning and Investment, SSEN Transmission
Bless is the Head of System Planning and Investment with SSEN Transmission, the owner and operator of the north of Scotland electricity transmission system. Bless has over 20 years’ experience in the electricity industry, specialising in system planning and investment in transmission and distribution networks. In his current role, he focuses on enabling the transition to net zero emissions in the energy sector through the planning of the transmission network in the north of Scotland to accommodate customer connections and to provide the necessary grid capacity, working with other network operators and the Electricity System Operator.
Nicola Todd, Head of Strategy and Innovation, National Grid Electricity Transmission
Nicola joined National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) in 2013 on their Graduate programme following completion of her degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.
She has held multiple roles in NGET, including as a Power Systems Engineer and as Network Investment Manager, leading the engineering team designing and developing strategic infrastructure projects across England and Wales.
Nicola is now Head of Strategy and Innovation and is accountable for NGET’s business, asset, and network development strategies to deliver the net zero transition, as well as delivering a portfolio of innovation projects to support our decarbonisation ambitions.
Stephanie Anderson, Head of Regulation, SP Energy Networks
Stephanie is Head of Regulation at SP Energy Networks, with over 10 years’ experience in electricity network regulation at both transmission and distribution level.
